It shields wallet balances, sender and receiver information, transaction amounts, and payment history from public exposure. Crest also supports private Bitcoin swaps, allowing users to buy and sell BTC without linking trading activity to their identity. The project positions privacy as a default layer for everyday Bitcoin use and is preparing for a private beta launch.
